JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant/Business Affairs

Small growing staffing company focused exclusively on broadcast, cable, and corporate media is looking for a unique individual that offers excellent accounting and client service skills. Our company is a multi-state operation with fulltime and freelance personnel supporting production and AV clients across the country and in the UK. We are an entrepreneurial company that understands how to deliver the best service in the business while having fun doing it. We seek an accounting pro who appreciates flexibility and working with a motivated group of video production professionals.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for providing a variety of accounting functions (oversight of all postings to general ledger, preparing financial statements, monitoring financial aspects of contracts and creating accounting metrics for various clients) to TeamPeople and its multiple divisions.
ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
•Prepare, analyze and present monthly financial statements and ad hoc reports for TeamPeople management.
•Develop annual operating budgets and work with operations staff to ensure budget goals are met throughout the year.
•Monitor and project weekly cash flow for multiple bank accounts.
•Create and track customized client financial reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
•Assist employees and management with strategic, financial, and payroll related questions.
•Participate in RFP process.
•Solid understating of multi-state payroll and ability to research federal and state tax requirements.
BUSINESS AFFAIRS DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
•A flexible attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment are an absolute must.
•Direct interface with corporate and accounting client personnel.
•The ability to interact easily and efficiently with employees, management and clients, and to work independently with minimal supervision.
•Candidates should be proactive in researching and responding to all requests.
•Experience with contract management.
•Extreme proficiency with computer software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
•Experience with accounting and payroll software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 - 5 years experience. Must have demonstrated experience with progressively increasing responsibility over accounts payable, billing, payroll, general ledger and reporting. Experience in the media or staffing industry helpful but not required.
